to the national standards for the Wraparound process.

What is High Fidelity Wraparound?

Wraparound is a very successful method for rationalizing the many ideas and services competing today for the attention of family and youth human service workers. Professionals in the field recognize that the one-size-fits-all mentality does a grave disservice, especially to the diverse families we serve. The marshalling of the many social services available today from welfare and mental health agencies, faith-based organizations, and the judicial system, and the streamlining of them into one effective plan works wonderfully for children, youth and their families. And, very important in these times of financial stress, achieves remarkable economies.

High Fidelity Wraparound is a process totally involving the child, youth, and family led by a facilitator who brings together multiple systems, creating a highly individualized plan to address complex emotional/social needs. Support partners provide the specialized abilities to engage families that come from ‘living it themselves’. The goals of High Fidelity Wraparound are, first, to satisfy requirements prioritized by youth and family and meet mandated system requirements and then to improve and support the families’ abilities and confidence to manage their own services and supports. The facilitator and support partners are trained and certification in the development or strengthening of the familes' natural supports, and in the integration of all child-serving systems and natural supports into one streamlined plan. High Fidelity Wraparound is an evidence-based practice driven by the National Wraparound Initiative (NWI).
